Pining for more - big flavour, small pack

Pining for more - big flavour, small pack. WHAT I LIKED ✅Quality & flavour: I found the nuts looked clean, whole and consistent in size, and the flavour rich and buttery - they add a noticeable lift to dishes. They're fairly mild straight from the pack, but once lightly toasted the nuttiness really comes alive and can transform a dishTexture: The nuts were mostly whole, with a soft bite rather than a hard crunch. After dry-toasting they developed a lovely texture that worked particularly well in salads and pasta dishesVersatility: Ideal for pesto, salads and pasta, but also go well in stir-fries, muffins and grain bpwls - small additions go a long way in flavour Just 100% pine nuts, with no added oil, salt, preservatives, colours or flavours. They also carry a 4 Health Star Rating and are a natural source of minerals including iron, manganese and zinc FOR IMPROVEMENT ⚠️Value for money: ~$5 for 80g ($62. 50/1kg). The larger 180g Woolworths pack generally offers better value ($60/1kg). Coles offers identical prices for 80gr and medium size pack, but their 300gr pack is $17 (56. 67/1kg), so I would struggle to justify repeatedly buying the smaller packPortion size is too small for us: I found it runs out extremely quickly. One pesto or salad for a family can use a significant proportion of the bag.  This makes the non-recyclable plastic pack feels more wastefulNot-Aussie; Country of origin is unknown WOULD I BUY AGAIN? If you’re not a big user – this is a great option. The flavour and quality are genuinely good, and toasted pine nuts can elevate a salad, pesto or pasta dish in a way few ingredients can. However, the price means they're an occasional ingredient rather than a pantry staple for me. If I were buying again regularly, I'd probably step up to the larger packs for the better value. Thank you for a great and yummy product!

Pine Nuts

Pine Nuts. Great for basil pesto. Pine nuts are so expensive though.

Great as a salad topper or in risotto

Great as a salad topper or in risotto. My title says it all. This was fantastic in my salads but my most favourite way to use them was to sprinkle on my risotto. It is an essential ingredient for my broccoli and apple salad. Yum.

Use for homemade pesto

Use for homemade pesto. I use these when making homemade pesto. I always toast them first. For this purpose these are as good as name brand pinenuts yet much cheaper. I would buy again.

Not for me

Not for me. Not something I would buy to snack on. Expensive for what you get.

Best option

Best option. pine nuts can be quite expensive with minimal quality changes from one brand to the next. This is the pack I usually buy as it’s the more affordable option, especially if you go a bigger size.
